Published on Feb 22, 2016

Hi and welcome to yet another episode of TechSmith Tips! In this episode Mike is going to try and help you understand different video file types and recommend which ones may work best for you.

As our TV’s and computers screens continue to increase in size, the evolution of efficient file types that work well on our machines is only natural. Mp4, .mov, .avi, H.264, .MPEG4, AVCHD, these are all video file types you may have heard of or seen before. You may also have heard of the terms codecs vs. containers or lossy vs lossless. All of these terms are related and refer to video file formats and compression techniques.
