The search engine that all of us know is Google, and some of you might use Yahoo or Bing as your preferred search engine. But my experience has been that few of you know about a search engine called DuckDuckGo.

The search engine that doesn't track you. A superior search experience with smarter answers, less clutter and real privacy.

What makes DuckDuckGo unique is that it protects you when you do a search. When you do a search with Google they track you via your searches. If you do a search for free computer training Google will match advertisements via Google AdWords to that search. As you browse around the web you might find that those types of advertisements follow you based on a previous search.  DuckDuckGo protects you from that intrusion.

This is how Wikipedia describes DuckDuckGo:

DuckDuckGo (DDG) is an Internet search engine that emphasizes protecting searchers’ privacy and avoiding the filter bubble of personalized search results.[1] DuckDuckGo distinguishes itself from other search engines by not profiling its users and by deliberately showing all users the same search results for a given search term.[4] DuckDuckGo emphasizes getting information from the best sources rather than the most sources, generating its search results from key crowdsourced sites such as Wikipedia and from partnerships with other search engines like Yandex, Yahoo!, Bing, and Yummly.
